About The B.A.O. List

Black American wealth wasn't built on a level playing field. It was built despite one.

Slavery. The broken promises of reconstruction. Jim Crow. Redlining. The deliberate exclusion from GI Bill benefits, from homeownership, from generational wealth building that other communities were able to access freely. Black Americans have faced a distinct and compounding set of barriers that no other group in this country has experienced in the same way. That history didn't end. It shows up today in the wealth gap, in access to capital, in who gets taken seriously as a business owner.

The B.A.O. List exists to push back on that, one business at a time.

The B.A.O. List is a verification based directory and a tool for circulating dollars back into the Black American community to build the kind of generational wealth this country worked hard to keep out of reach.
